Dandino and a small group of prehistoric friends set out for a happy day among the ferns and dusty trails. When a mistake hurts a friend’s feelings, everyone pauses, listens, and learns how a kind apology can make friendship grow stronger. This warm, reassuring story shows that saying sorry and forgiving each other can turn a small problem into a closer bond.
Soon Dandino found three new friends: Pika, a tiny cave mouse; Bronto, a bouncy baby brontosaurus; and Tavi, a bright little pterodactyl. They smiled and decided to play together near the ferns.

They played a game of rolling smooth pebbles into a little circle. Dandino wanted to help, so Dandino pushed a pebble a little too hard.

The pebble bumped Pika’s toe. Pika frowned and stepped back. Bronto and Tavi looked surprised, and the game stopped.

Dandino’s face grew soft and sad. Dandino had not meant to hurt anyone, but Pika still looked hurt.

Dandino took a slow breath and said, “I’m sorry, Pika. I pushed too hard.” Dandino listened while Pika told how the bump had made Pika feel sore and sad.

Then Pika said, “Thank you for saying sorry.” Bronto nodded, and Tavi gave a small, kind chirp. The friends felt a little lighter already.

Dandino asked, “How can I make it better?” Pika pointed to the pebble circle and said, “Let’s build it again, together.”

So the four friends worked side by side. They rolled pebbles, made a new circle, and laughed when one pebble wobbled and then settled.

When the circle was done, Pika smiled at Dandino. “It’s okay now,” Pika said. Dandino smiled back, feeling warm inside.

Bronto, Tavi, and Pika all cheered for their friend group. “We listened,” said Dandino, “and we cared.”
