Whisper, wonder, and guess! Daisy shows her friends the leaf, and everyone leans closer. They are curious to learn its name and where it comes from.

Tap, turn, and trot! Daisy and her friends hurry to Miss G to learn the name of this special leaf.

“Okay, let’s settle down!” said Miss G. “This leaf came from an oak tree!” she cried. Then Miss G pointed to the leaf and the field guide. “Leaves help a tree live and grow. When the time of year changes, some leaves fall away so new ones can grow.”

Spin, grin, and pretend! Daisy lifts the leaf over her head and says it is magic. Her friends giggle and join in, ready to play along.

Tiptoe, hide, and pop! Daisy and her friends play invisible leaf games between the trees. They dart behind trunks, then burst out laughing when they are found.

Dash, laugh, and twirl! The class makes the leaf game bigger and bigger. Daisy feels proud that one little leaf can start so much fun.

It is time for the class to head back. Gather, settle, and smile! When the game is done, Daisy holds the leaf gently again. “This leaf was part of a real tree,” she thinks. “It was magical in our game, but it still came from an oak tree.”

Climb, ride, and wave! The whole class gets on the bus and heads back to school. Daisy keeps the leaf tucked safely in her lap and watches the forest trees slide past the windows.

Back at school, Daisy hops down from the bus with her class. She still has the leaf tucked safely in her hand, and she is thinking about oak trees and leaf games.

Later that day, Daisy’s mother is waiting at pickup time by the school gate. Daisy rushes over and says, “Mum, I found a leaf in the forest!”

Chat, point, and giggle! Daisy tells her mum all about her forest trip and the fun she had with her friends. “It was so much fun!” she says. Her mother listens closely, smiling at every detail.

Snuggle, sigh, and remember! Daisy goes home feeling proud of what she learned and happy about her magical day. That little leaf led Daisy and her friends to a fun trip.
